Well, I tried to write a really interesting post, about the kind of things that spark off memories. Trust me, it would have been a humdinger. But sometimes, Blogger - the template we use for writing these blogs - just won't play ball. And this was one of those times. Pictures shot about all over the place, text leapt about in an alarming fashion, captions played peekaboo. And I have things to do, people to see, places to go, and a healthy equilibrium to maintain.
So I will leave you with - I hope - one of the pictures that would have furnished an elegant epilogue to that sadly departed post. It's a sculpture, from a woodland trail at Crich Tramway Museum in Derbyshire, where we recently went with small grandchildren. Somehow, it really spoke to me.

Blogs have got so much harder to do, haven't they? With Google not letting you use videos or wiki commons images or sometimes even your OWN images. It's as frustrating as that fellow looks.
