New shoots

The virus has disrupted all our routines, all our plans, all our lives - in small ways and in terrible ways. An Awfully Big Blog Adventure is not immune, and there will be times when normal service has to be interrupted.

Today is one of those days, and so instead of a post to do with writing, here are a few pictures to remind us that spring is still happening: new shoots are appearing out of the earth and bare twigs are suddenly scattered with buds and blossom. Birds are singing and butterflies are fluttering too, but they're much harder to capture on camera.
