CHRISTMAS CRACKERS
I wrote these little fellas for a magazine many years ago - I found them lurking in a corner of my computer today and thought I'd post them here as a lead up to the festive season...
Turkey bones and paper
empty bottles fill the bins.
But Christmas isn't over
'til your shirt is free of pins.
We collected our gobbling turkey,
and settled it down for the night.
The next day we had it for dinner,
it sat next to me on the right.
Why not...
Mix turkey DNA
with a centipede, say,
then we'll all get a leg
of the bird Christmas day.
She's cooked and she's cleaned
the family's in clover.
But Christmas day night.
Mum's cope runneth over.
Happy holidays to all.

Very much identify with the 'cope runneth over' - and the festivities haven't even begun for us here.
Great little verses, Sharon, btw!
Thank you, Penny. Just a little bit of silliness for a magazine quite a few years ago now. Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas. xx
Free of pins
I like it
