Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival

THIS is, I hope, a live link to the website of the Oxford Literary Festival, which is full of good things, this year as every year. The reason I'm highlighting it on ABBA is twofold. Firstly, Nicolette Jones has assembled a star cast of children's authors who will be appearing in events throughout the week March 20th- 28th and secondly, she's organized a day of events on Saturday March 27th featuring writers who have connections with St. Hilda's College. Among other things, you'll find PD James on Barbara Pym, an event about women in the media and a panel (Victoria Hislop, Anita Mason and me) discussing the Family and History in Fiction.
Do have a look at the website and please pass on the link to anyone you think would be interested.
Thanks!

As an Oxford-based writer and book nut, may I encourage everyone who comes to the wonderful festival to pay a visit to The Albion Beatnik bookstore on Walton Street - my favourite store in the whole world, that specialises in books about jazz, and by and about the Beat Poets (it's also where I launched my last book - largely because it's such a great place http://agnieszkasshoes.blogspot.com/2009/11/book-launch.html ).

May I plug that I hold free creative writing workshops there every last Wednesday of the month - I',, move to the 24th for March to coincide with the festival - 4.30.

And everyone, watchout for fringe and beyond the fringe events - Year Zero Writers will be holding one of our music and words nights that week - keep an eye on our website for dates and venues

Hope to see lots of you in Oxford,
