Everything Changes, written by Clare Helen Welsh, illustrated by Asa Gilland, reviewed by Pippa Goodhart

Here is a beautiful picture book which takes us through the seasons, from sandcastle fun at the seaside, to leaf kicking fun in the strong winds of autumn, to snow and tobogganing in winter, to spring showers and the promise of another summer. But, through this year, we see a child facing the separation of loving parents, making that child upset and unsure, and then meeting a new parental partner. And, through it all, the parents reassure that things change, and change can bring happy things as well sad ones -

'Because it isn't about hoping that the storm will pass... it's about learning to dance in the raindrops!'

What a kind, important, useful book to help children understand about parents sometimes needing to separate, but always loving their child.
