On Saturday the 8th of October at Waterstones in Cardiff we celebrated Firefly Day.
Twelve of the authors published by Firefly Press got together for a day of book readings, events and workshops with the help of PR Megan Farr and editor Penny Thomas.
It was full on with children and parents coming and going - listening to the readings and taking part in the workshops. There was a constant buzz of excitement and thrilling to see the children so interested and involved.

My workshop had the children doing book-related, word searches, dot to dot, and drawings for small prizes. One highlight of the day for me was when a delighted girl told me her name was Carys, the same as the main character in my book.
The day rounded off with a fascinating talk by a panel of Firefly YA authors.
It was a long day from 11- 5:30 so after the fun and games it was off to the pub for many of us - and that well earned glass of wine.
