In Delphi a few years ago, we sat en famille in a cafe and studied a English language menu which included 'goat soup', 'pickled cock' and 'entrails on a stick'.Katherine Langrishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12529700103932422873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-24150175961457332342009-01-26T15:20:00.000+00:002009-01-26T15:20:00.000+00:00I love eccentric translations (although they do ma...I love eccentric translations (although they do make me worry a bit - see my entry, 'In Translators We Trust', back in July last year).

One of my current favourites comes from the toy my son got for Christmas - 'Operating Instructions' is translated as 'Handle Narrate'.

Anyway - have a lovely time in Athens, and looking forward to hearing a story or two in your next entry!John Doughertyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11937505376169411724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-63816174082540215812009-01-26T12:37:00.000+00:002009-01-26T12:37:00.000+00:00Sorry, that comment was not from Lauren, it was fr...Sorry, that comment was not from Lauren, it was from me - she left my computer logged in to her account!AnneRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02886295208140507100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-27750260436828283572009-01-26T12:36:00.000+00:002009-01-26T12:36:00.000+00:00I hope Athens is as good.
