On one of my earlier posts, I suggested that perhaps the reason for Janet Street-Porter's 6 marriages was her moaning. Apparently this is not true, as described in a recent article in one of the Sunday's.

According to Janet, within quite a short time of marrying her first husband, Tim Street-Porter, she was off sleeping with various people. She didn't feel anything for them, it was just good sex, and she didn't give the matter(s) much of a second thought. Nor did she feel that she was doing anything objectionable. However, she wrote, when Tim found out, he seemed to get terribly upset, and promptly left her. And she felt that she had ruined aperfectly good marriage.

...... 3am. Front door opens. It's just that I find it rather hard to accept that readership of The Guardian, or perhaps The Independent..., or the holding of left of centre, Democratic, or 'woke' views... automatically endows a superior knowledge of, or insight into, the dynamics of someone else's marriage.Andrew Prestonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14063661979113168003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-47022535176892608802020-11-15T12:01:06.919+00:002020-11-15T12:01:06.919+00:00Apologies are important! So sorry, Sue - and of course I agree re the gun thing - I should have done more thorough research into the man, rather than just remembering the one thing I knew about him which I liked! But I rather balked at Heston being your example. He's a very right-wing gun lobbyist. His rifle would 'have to be prised from his cold, dead hand' as I remember.

With what I know of him, I take his marriage advice as a piece of pure sexism: 'Silly women always have to have the last word, so tell them you're sorry and they'll be happy, like the children of greater growth they are, while you can stand there smirking in your superior masculinity, knowing you were right all along.'

Sorry, Lynne! My problem really isn't with you -- a sincere, honest apology truly is a rare and valuable thing, especially in politics.

But Heston? Can't stand the man.Susan Pricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07738737493756183909noreply@blogger.com
