We should all think carefully about what we say on those things as we might as well shout it from the rooftops.Writer Pat Newcombehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12678017709861817691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-83547724752820768582012-02-25T19:30:12.622+00:002012-02-25T19:30:12.622+00:00Thanks for your comments. I waver between being concerned about the erosion of privacy, and deciding that it doesn't really matter.

There's so much that's more important than most people's tittle tattle or misplaced comments. I'm like you Adele. I try to never say anything that could be used against me, but in spite of that I'm sure I have.Cindy Jefferieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01480816926657167434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-48776980750047110072012-02-25T11:30:39.200+00:002012-02-25T11:30:39.200+00:00I don't mind the CIA secretly following my blo...I don't mind the CIA secretly following my blog, maybe I'll encourage some secret agent to write their first novel!
I try and live by not doing anything I'd want to cover up later (both online and off), but if I do, it's good that I have a very short memory :)
Wagging TalesCharmaine Clancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18059559142070140041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-1958306584583862162012-02-25T09:46:31.652+00:002012-02-25T09:46:31.652+00:00And I would NEVER post a photo of my kids etc. I p...And I would NEVER post a photo of my kids etc. I put photos of me on my website etc but don't mind others seeing those.adelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15826710558292792068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-9939846272353559122012-02-25T09:45:11.591+00:002012-02-25T09:45:11.591+00:00Most interesting, Cindy! I NEVER write anything horrible about anyone in case it gets back to them. I am sometimes a bit gossipy about certain people, which wouldn't interest the Govt but might cause me embarrassment at cocktail parties. I've occasionally said a book is pants privately when I wouldn't say it to the author's face but hey, if that came out I'd have to fess up1 But NEVER anything that really matters.adelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15826710558292792068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-81754870817237258482012-02-25T09:38:18.439+00:002012-02-25T09:38:18.439+00:00A very interesting subject and Jo is absolutely ri...A very interesting subject and Jo is absolutely right about job applications in 5 years - though presumably in 25 years the bosses will have just as much out there as the people they're interviewing.

April Hamilton has written a fascinating novel about these issues called Overshare, written entirely in mocked-up screenshots that follow the consequences of a seemingly innocent post on social media - she makes some very interestnig points in the interview here:
http://eightcuts.com/2012/01/03/overshare/Dan Hollowayhttp://danholloway.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-39087904956088226522012-02-25T09:24:58.557+00:002012-02-25T09:24:58.557+00:00Interesting, this - I don't post much trivia, ...Interesting, this - I don't post much trivia, simply because I don't think many people would be interested. I mean, who but me cares that my daffodils are almost out.

But younger people see it very differently. How many will regret posting pictures of their bottoms on FB when they are applying for a job as an accountant in 5 years time. And all those lovely baby pictures - what is little Nelly going to make of that one of her in the bath with soap on her nose (ah) when she's 15?JOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03127111575563904349noreply@blogger.com
