We have a little gem of a library in Caversham, Carnegie-endowed, a lovely building, and an excellent ordering system which means you can pick books up and return them wherever you please; children's activities, community noticeboards, and so on and so on...Leslie Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15105465949970430998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7780182174577095197.post-73046284894535263312014-11-02T11:18:13.340+00:002014-11-02T11:18:13.340+00:00Yes, Mr Mustard! A while back, when people protested against library cuts, there was a "Survey", which was paid for by cutting library book purchases for that year.

Apologies, blogpost readers. The word "sit" was taken out of the line "easy chairs so people can reading papers and magazines and books (or snooze)" when I was doing some last minute editing. The mind boggles at the idea of libraries being run entirely by volunteers. What if we extend this to hospitals as well. Sorry no more money for nurses so now we just have volunteers!

What bothers me as well, is that there are so few school libraries.
