Virtual Misteltoe! Catherine Johnson

OK, folks, romance; love and kisses or that slow lid drooping feeling of utter boredom? I mean in books, not real life of course.
Now, I have never written a full- on, out and out, lip smacking, book of lurrve. And I don't choose a book for the love story either, even so, there are some that have just carried me away on a sea of palpitations and heart flutteriness. And those that do it for me are usually the ones where any number of obstacles stand in the way of the romance, even if it's only the protagonists pig headedness. Perhaps they do get it together, but it's usually doomed, or short lived, or they fall out before - if - any happy ending is allowed.
As I'm writing my first romance, I thought I'd share my festive list of lovers, especially for those who find Edward and Bella just a little wimpy.
Per and Andrea from The Sterkarm Handshake by Susan Price
Smith and Isabel from Let's Get Lost by Sarra Manning
Alice and - actually I'm not saying because I don't want to spoil it - From Alice in Love and War by Anne Turnbull
Yann and Sido from The Silver Blade by Sally Gardner
Addie and Cato from Nest of Vipers by me - oh why not!
And if you must have Vampires, (the books are not as explicit as the TV series) Sookie and Bill from Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (True Blood off the Telly)
I'm sure I've forgotten loads - all recommendations welcome!
XXXX Catherine

Tenar and Ged from the Earthsea books.
Laura and Almanzo from the Little House books.
And can I have my own Peer and Hilde from 'Troll Blood'?

Dear Catherine, dare I mensh Jenny and Rafael from my Saving Rafael? I endorse Alice, of course! And Will and Susannah in Ann Turnbull's two Quaker books, the lovers in Adele Geras's 'Ithaka', the lovers in Jamila Gavin's 'Coram Boy.' I do agree about Per and Andrea in 'Sterkarm.' And the love story in 'Troll Blood' is great. Then there are a lot of wonderful love stories in Rosemary Sutcliffe's novels, and also the couple - sorry, I'm lousy on names - in Linda Newbery's 'Sisterland.'
Are you going to read all these recommends?

Ooh, Catherine, I didn't realise Bill and Sookie were in a book too. Shall go and investigate (because yes, I must have vampires). Endorse all your other suggestions.
